Airport Parking Directory - BOOK HERE
Birmingham International Airport serves the West midlands area and flies to many international destinations. The car parks at Birmingham are situated very close to the Airport terminals and are also operated by National Car Parks (NCP). The airport advises you to pre-book your parking as you can save a good deal of money, and by that we mean up to 40%. You get the convenience of on-site parking, discounts on the normal rates, a choice of car parks to fit your needs, a free courtesy bus to and from the car parks to the terminals if needed.
The short stay car park is recommended for those who are dropping off or picking up passengers as the pricing system means that it is only cost-effective if you are staying for two hours or less. The cost of the car park is £1.20 for the first 30 minutes, £2.60 for 30-60 minutes, and £4.20 for up to two hours. The prices then rise steeply and almost punitively from there, with any stay over 8 hours costing £50. This is to discourage people staying more than two hours from abusing the short-stay car park's short distance to the terminal.
The long stay surface car parks have a much simpler pricing system. The cost is £5.30 for any time up to four hours, making it more cost-effective than stays at the short stay car park of longer than two hours. For stays of over 4 hours and up to 24 hours, the cost is £6.90, which is a major difference from the short stay car park. For each day over 24 hours, the cost is £6.90 per day.
However, it is when you pre-book that the savings really happen. So, if you book in the winter for a stay of up to six days, before arriving at the airport, you will only have to pay £5.30 per day. In the summer, pre-booking for a period of up to six days before arriving at the airport will mean a cost of £5.50 per day. Should you be able to book in the winter for a stay of between 6 and 13 days, it will only cost you £4.90 per day, and in the summer £5.20 per day. For very long holidays of over 14 days, should you pre-book parking will only cost you £4.50 per day in winter and £4.90 per day in summer.
There is also a multi-storey car park which acts as a mid-term car park, with prices set between those of the short stay and long stay car parks. So it's the same cost as the short stay car park for up to 2 hours, but only rises to £11.50 after 8 hours, and then £11.50 a day.
